There is just something special about camp weddings. They are a much different pace than most one-day wedding venues. Most summer camps allow for full weekend stays so no one is rushing from location to location or counting hours until the time everyone has to be out and cleaned up. Something even greater than the laid back feel of these weddings is the sense of community that you build with friends and family. Kurt and I were married at Camp Pinnacle in 2014 and we will never forget the bonds that we formed that weekend, we spent two days with our friends and family sleeping in cabins, eating at the dining hall, and playing in the lake. It was this little community that carried us into the next stage of our life and has continued to support us though the years.
Camp Merrie-Woode was especially important place for Carrie and James. Carrie spent most of her summers as a child at Merrie- Woode playing in Lake Fairfield and building lifelong friendships. In fact, most of Carrie's friends from camp were at the wedding. This place inspires her and it was clear to see that it does the same to James, so it was perfect for them to return to Cashiers NC for their wedding. From first look at the lake to a beautiful rainstorm, a rainbow, and the most heartfelt ceremony to fried chicken dinner and late night dance party in balloon hats, this was a wedding to be remembered.
Carrie and James, we just fell in love with you two. You two just radiate positivity and love and you have built one beautiful little community. We thank you so much for choosing us as your photographers and wish you a lifetime of happiness.
